Project Period: 2025 | Client: South African Government and African Development Bank | Geography: G20
During the G20 under the South African presidency, Culture of Business was invited to consult the G20 on innovative approaches to combating corruption in public service, asset recovery, cross-sector partnerships and whistle-blower protection across the G20 member states.
Alongside institutional partners AfDB and OECD, and with the support of officials from the South African government, we produced two publications which can be viewed under the Writing tab in our website.
Our recommendations were also expressed in an opinion piece published in Business Day, the national daily newspaper in South Africa, on the subject of "The G20 opportunity - building transparency and accountability for a more equitable future". It can be found in the Ideas section.
Project Period: 2024-2025 | Client: TI-UK and British Investment International | Geography: Global
Working with a team of researchers from University College London and IBLF Global, Culture of Business produced a Guide to Managing Business Integrity Risk in Impact Investing.
It's long been known that there are weaknesses in how impact investors typically manage business integrity risk post-investment - a lack of systematic monitoring of risk, inconsistent approaches and limited follow-up with investees. This is especially true in high risk markets where monitoring is especially challenging - and most needed.
The guide, which was commissioned by British Investment International and Transparency International UK, addresses this gap and helps investors take a proactive stance to monitoring business integrity risk during the investment lifecycle.

Project Period: 2021-2024 | Client: UNDP | ASEAN Region
Young entrepreneurs across ASEAN face a critical barrier: how to build a prosperous future where young people have access to productive, corruption-free work. Culture of Business served as Business Integrity Advisor to UNDP's Promoting a Fair Business Environment in ASEAN programme, which focused on establishing rules for fair business, improving procurement transparency, and encouraging responsible business practices.
Over three years, the programme raised business integrity standards for thousands of SMEs across the ASEAN region. Major enterprises were empowered to integrate integrity practices into supplier engagement; business associations gained tools to support member companies; and government agencies developed capacity to provide practical guidance on fair business practices. The work established a foundation for the next generation of ASEAN businesses to compete on quality and innovation.
